“[Nachoff’s writing is] bold, diverse and filled with compelling counterpoint” and “a fascinating mind…exquisite forlorn tenor [saxophone]”
–DownBeat Magazine
Nachoff has been leading a variety of diverse ensembles from brass quintets to string quartets to a violin concerto. For this outing he pars his concepts down to the saxophone trio with collaborators bassist Eivind Opsvik and drummer Dan Weiss, debuting a set of new music in preparation for recording.
Eivind Opsvik brings “an aesthetic of haunting introspection, and the desire to seek out beauty in austerity.” –NY Times
Dan Weiss was featured in the New York Times as “one of the 5 Most Promising Drummers of the New Generation” and was “The Top Up and Coming Percussionist” in the 60th and 61st annual Downbeat Critic’s Poll.
