DownBeat 4.5 Stars for Path of Totality

Thank you DownBeat Magazine and JD Considine for a 4.5 star review in the upcoming February edition for Path of Totality!

This may, or may not, also coincide numerically with the rotations around the sun that I’m celebrating today…

“In all, Path of Totality is a stunning, deep dive of an album, the sort of music in which one could spend hours submersed.”

Kaléidoscope Concert / Recording

A huge thanks to the amazing: soloist Nathalie Bonin, Molinari String Quartet (Olga Ranzenhofer, Antoine Bareil, Frederic Lambert, Pierre-alain Bouvrette), Montréal musicians (Jean-Pierre Zanella, Yvan Belleau, Brent Besner, Jocelyn Couture, Bill Mahar, David Grott & Robert Ellis), Toronto’s Michael Davidson & David Travers-Smith, and NYC’s Mark Helias, Satoshi Takeishi & JC Sanford!
We had a great time premiering the Violin Concerto, String Quartet #1 and a large ensemble work, Pivotal Arc, at Gesù in Montréal (co-presenting the concert with Le Vivier Group) and recording at the outstanding Studio Piccolo (assistant engineer Patrice Pruneau).
Also colossal thanks to The Canada Council for the Arts and the community of Canadian musicians and artists who made this project possible.
Will be at David Travers-Smith’s studio early in the New Year to finish editing and begin mixing this new recording!
