Turning Point Ensemble, Ethereal Trio & sophomore Flux recording in the works

Flux sophomore recording in the works
Back here in Brooklyn and busy working on new music to complete Flux’s sophomore recording to feature David Binney (alto sax), Matt Mitchell (piano, keyboards and synths) and both Kenny Wollesen and Nate Wood (drummers). Recording dates set for early September – watch for an early 2018 release.

Turning Point Ensemble premiere of Winding Tessellations (saxophone concerto)

Had a great time at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival in late June premiering a new saxophone concerto for the Turning Point Ensemble (chamber orchestra). It was also a pleasure to play on John Hollenbeck’s and François Houle’s compositions. Special thanks to physicist Dr Stephen Morris (University of Toronto) for his help with some source materials for the composition – cracks forming in drying mud.

Ethereal Trio

Ethereal Trio (Whirlwind Recordings) featuring Mark Helias (bass) and Dan Weiss (drums) is receiving some nice press and the recording can be purchased through Whirlwind Recordings here. The newest review at AllAboutJazz by Mark Corroto: “intricate pieces that morphed into improvisational masterworks…Highly recommended”
