The Quiescence Quartet's music has been described by jazz critic Geoff Chapman as "fascinating, reflective but always interesting. Classical influences abound, postmodern adventures..., and floating melodic lines...make tunes...fascinating, enigmatic but exhilarating. It's probing music with prescient interaction..." It features a standard jazz line up of saxophone, trumpet, bass and drums, but playing all original music composed in a unique manner. The two lead lines are often contrapuntal and interwoven. Harmonically the music will vary from re-workings of familiar standard's chord changes to more modern jazz harmony. Even in the most complicated pieces there is a strong element of melody that pervades all the compositions. This is a group that is drawing on, stretching, and extending the history of jazz quartet music.

". . . your CD is as good or better than any other CD I've heard in the last
couple of years or more. Seriously! The tunes are fresh, your playing (and the trumpet player's) is EXCELLENT; I dig the bass and drums, too.  . . . congratulations, and Bravo!"
